Rennes

It is a modern city, now the Préfecture of the Département Ille-et-Vilaine as well as the capital of Brittany with a rich heritage and a long history. It was the headquarters of the Parliament of Brittany whose building remains a symbol of the town. The medieval remains are numerous because Rennes is the city of Brittany with the largest number of half-timbered houses. After the great fire in 1720, the town center was rebuilt in the Classical style. Nowadays, modernity and theMiddle Ages intermingle.
